News

23/02/2012 All future releases of the Land Data Model will be in the form of Rational Rhapsody files. However, Enterprise Architect version 9.2 is now capable of importing Rhapsody models direct from the .rpy file.
Introduction
This Trac software project management system is used for the development and maintenance of the UK MOD Land Data Model.
The Land Data Model has been developed in order to facilitate a long-term improvement in interoperability and upgradeability within the electronic architectures of the UK MODs fleet of Land vehicles.
The UK MOD are ensuring that use of the Land Data Model is incorporated into procurements by making its use a requirement of Defence Standard 29-03 “Generic Vehicle Architecture”. Since the Land Data Model is already being implemented in UK vehicle programmes, the benefits of this approach (i.e. interoperability and upgradeability) will only be realised provided all modifications to the Land Data Model are addressed through this Trac software project management system for consideration by the development and maintenance group.
Land Data Model Access
If you would like to access the Land Data Model or participate in the development process please contact the MOD Generic Vehicle Architecture team DESLE-DEFSTANS@mod.uk.
Trac & Subversion
This service is built upon the Trac ticket based software management system. Trac allows tickets to be raised in order to manage modifications of the Land Data Model due to defects, enhancement requests and task suggestions. The tickets exist in one of a number of states that follow the rules in the chosen workflow model. A process for the maturation of tickets by the LDM Development & Maintenance Group is described here. A detailed description of the fields of a ticket can be found here Trac documentation.
The Land Data Model is subject to version control. You can browse the files that define the Land Data Model by selecting Browse Source from the toolbar at the head of this page. You can also access the Subversion server directly using a subversion client application (see Wikipedia). The repository uses the standard subversion layout of trunk/tags/branches.
- tags will be used to store named releases of the Land Data Model such as version-1.1.
- trunk will store the most recent release from the tags folder, the most up-to-date version of the Land Data Model.
- branches will store copies of the Land Data Model used by teams developing aspects of it for future release.
It is necessary to use the relevant folder name as part of the URI identifying the desired repository. For instance, the trunk changeset might be accessed with 'http://www.ldm.qinetiq.com/svn/ldm/trunk'.
